1. Get Setup on Google My Business

Setup an account on Google My Business and get all your business details filled out e.g. phone, location, logo, opening times and so on. It’s free and will enable you to appear in local search results for queries specific to your area of industry. Also make sure to claim your address on Google maps, if it’s a local business which a physical location and offline customers, make sure you claim your physical address on Google Maps.

2. Launch a Blog

Creating good solid content will help you rank better in the search engines and will also help engage your audience. Create good content for product pages, homepages and everywhere around the site.

Launching a blog is a way of generating traffic for your website, creating good content that can be shared on social media websites like Facebook will help bring people to your website that are interested in what you have to say.

If you launch a blog make sure to post regularly, share buttons will help increase sharing of your blog posts from your readers.

3. Mobile-friendly Website

Make sure your website is mobile friendly and can be viewed on all mobile devices like phones, tablets and desktops. Mobile websites also need to be easy to use and load fast, resizing images will help increase load time and compressing files and scripts will also help with load times.

4. Setup Google Analytics

It’s free and it’s essential for you to understand customer behaviour, traffic sources and much more.

5. Research your Keywords

Using keyword research tools such as Google’s Keyword Planner to spot gaps in the market will enable you to capitalize upon these.
